I met Margaret at an FAA DAR recurrent training class in San Diego. I noticed her engagement in the process of learning from and the questioning of the instructors and other personnel in the room.

I found her interest refreshing as she approached questions and challenges in a professional matter.

I could personally speak with her one on one during breaks and was impressed with her knowledge of the subject matter and personal goals of improving her position in the industry.

In my opinion Margaret is the classic example of the type of professional people we need in the ranks of Designees. It is apparent that her integrity and professionalism run hand in hand.

As a DART of over 20 years I strongly suggest your consideration of her application to enter the aircraft certification designee community. She will be a benefit to our goals.

As Director of Quality and FAA duties at Lockheed Martin, Regulatory Compliance Manager, and DAR for over 15 years, I highly support the recommendation for Margaret Woods in the capacity as a Designated Airworthiness Representative in the functions for Part 21 for those observed through the performance of her duties as a DMIR over the last 10 years.

Margaret has supported PC-205 activities and also aircraft certification activities for Part 21.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss with you personally how her skills and strengths can best serve you in this role.

LM Program Manager

I’m a private pilot and devoted aviator. I recently retired from FedEx Corporation after 41 years of service as the MD10/11 Aircraft Fleet Manager in the Maintenance Operations Control Center (MOCC). I continue to dedicate voluntary time to the Memphis Blackhawks organization and Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals in Memphis TN.

I met Ms. Woods when she joined the Memphis Blackhawks volunteer organization in 1997. She exemplified her love and passion for aviation early on in her career. I began a mentor relationship with her, which continues today.

I’ve experienced Ms. Woods growth, integrity, and professional self-branding as an aviation professional first hand. Her continued employment in aviation required movement across the states, yet she was steadfast and maintained frequent contact with me toward her growth and success in the industry.

As a 45+ year private pilot and airframe & powerplant mechanic, I highly recommend that you consider Ms. Woods the extended privilege of becoming a DAR-T for the Administration. I strongly believe she would be a positive enhancement to the aircraft certification designee community.
